Joanna works on court and arbitration proceedings in the area of civil and commercial law. She also has experience in collateral and enforcement proceedings. At Rö, she specialises primarily in matters related to the performance of construction contracts and execution of infrastructure investments. She works on cases related to the enforcement of contract security in the form of bank and insurance guarantees. Joanna’s experience includes work on a complex proceeding related to the dissolution of an agreement and enforcement of a return of financing for an infrastructure investment. She was also engaged in managing a case of enforcing subrogation claims for a client from the insurance sector. Joanna provided support to the Rö team in the class action case for an automotive company. The court rejected the claim brought against Rö’s client by final judgement.
Joanna studied at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. In 2014 she participated in a year-long international exchange at the University of Barcelona, Spain, during which she completed training including an introduction to key issues in Spanish law. Joanna also completed a course on American law organized as part of the American Law School run by the Jagiellonian University in collaboration with The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington. In 2015 she received her M.A. in intellectual property law, written under the direction of Professor Janusz Barta, on the legal aspects of parody of a trademark. In 2018 Joanna completed her legal advisor’s apprenticeship with the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisors in Warsaw. From the beginning of her professional career she has worked with law firms specialising in dispute resolution. She has been with Rö since 2016.
